Notice of Intent to Increase Fees for Services


As specified in ARS § 15-1631 (as amended), the Arizona State Museum provides Notice of Intent to Increase Fees for Services performed pursuant to ARS Title 41, Chapter 4.1, Article 4 and § 41-865.  

Pursuant to ARS § 15-1631(E)(1), a comprehensive list of persons who have requested notification of proposed fee changes, proposed policy changes, or any other proposed changes relating to the state museum is being compiled. To register for such notification, please send an email message with your preferred contact information to ASMratesandfees@email.arizona.edu.


As specified in ARS § 15-1631 (as amended), the Arizona State Museum has posted a Draft Proposal to Increase Fees for Services performed pursuant to ARS Title 41, Chapter 4.1, Article 4 and § 41-865.

As specified in ARS § 15-1631 (as amended), the Arizona State Museum will accept public comment, from 11 February 2017 through 12 March 2017, on its Draft Proposal to Increase Fees for Services. Public comment may include written comments, comments submitted through e-mail, and oral comments.


The public comment period from 11 February 2017 through 12 March 2017 has ended.

A revised draft of the proposal to increase fees for services will be posted on this website as soon as possible. This revised draft will include a summary of and response to comments received, as well as a summary of the alternatives that were considered and a rationale for why those alternatives were not selected. Once the revised draft is posted, public comment will be accepted for at least twenty days.


As specified in ARS § 15-1631 (as amended), the Arizona State Museum has posted a Revised Draft Proposal to Increase Fees for Services performed pursuant to ARS Title 41, Chapter 4.1, Article 4 and § 41-865:

The Arizona State Museum will accept public comments on the Revised Draft Proposal from 17 April 2017 through 7 May 2017. Public comment may include written comments, comments submitted through e-mail, and oral comments.


Per ARS § 15-1631(E)(5), which requires that the Arizona State Museum (ASM) provide an opportunity for public comment for at least twenty days regarding a Revised Draft of the Proposal to Increase Fees for Services, the public comment period which closed 7 May 2017 will be extended through 18 August 2017. Public comments received between 17 April 2017 and 18 August 2017 will be considered. Public comment may include written comments, comments submitted through e-mail, and oral comments. ASM will also provide opportunities for face-to-face meetings with stakeholders during this public comment period.

ASM held an SB 1418 Cultural Resource Management Forum on 13 June 2017 and presented in a session at the Arizona Historic Preservation Conference on 15 June 2017. Material presented and discussed is available below:

Based on feedback from stakeholders and ASM’s desire to achieve better alignment between its business practices and the needs of stakeholders, the new proposed rate and fee structure, if adopted by the Arizona Board of Regents, will not go into effect until 1 July 2018.
