Behind-the-Scenes Tours with Curators

Enjoy a very special visit through which you will meet museum professionals who are passionate about curating some of the largest and most significant collections in the world! 

You will be taken behind-the-scenes into climate-controlled storerooms where you will come face to face with stunning examples of the museum’s incomparable collections of Southwest Indian pottery and American Indian basketry. You will meet preservation scientists who set international standards for collections care through ground-breaking research in a state-of-the-art conservation laboratory. You will visit a nationally renowned laboratory of zooarchaeology, where scholars will demonstrate what they learn about human behavior by studying animal bone.

Your two-hour experience can be scheduled on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays with as much advance notice as possible and based on curator availability. 10:00 a.m. to noon or 2:00-4:00 p.m.

Space is limited to groups of 10 or fewer. Adults only please. 

$25 per person. Payment in advance can be made by phone with a credit card, or by mailing in a check (payable to "University of Arizona/ASM") to the address below.
