About the Store
Much more than a gift shop, Native Goods is an extension of the museum, its merchandise carefully selected for authenticity and cultural relevance. Shopping at Native Goods is not unlike exploring the museum itself except, of course, you get to take home the cultural treasures offered for sale.
Both quality and authenticity are guaranteed. Store manager Tim Price has established close relationships with Native artists and craftspeople, which translates into a collection unparalleled in its representation of works from Native nations of the U.S. Southwest and northern Mexico. Merchandise ranges from katsina dolls, pottery, basketry, jewelry, rugs, and masks, to books for children and adults, to an array of one-of-a-kind collectibles.
Native Goods also carries baskets, stone carvings, and delicate shell necklaces by the Seri, who live along the mainland coast of the Gulf of California in northern Mexico, and basketry and sometimes musical instruments crafted by the Tarahumara from Mexico's famed and isolated Sierra Madre.
