Full-time Faculty Conservator at the Assistant rank
The Arizona State Museum (ASM) at the University of Arizona (U of A) invites applications for a full-time faculty Conservator at the Assistant* rank [Continuing-Eligible (tenure equivalent)]. This position would serve as Head of the Conservation Laboratory and be responsible for providing expertise in the physical care and conservation of the collections housed at ASM through research and educational activities. Strong candidates for this position should hold an MA or PhD (or equivalent certification) in Conservation with specialization in objects conservation, five or more years of demonstrated experience in objects conservation, beyond education or training, and demonstrated research experience related to preservation or conservation of anthropological object collections.
*Note: University faculty ranks (Assistant, Associate, Full) do not directly translate to position titles used within the field of conservation. Although this position is at the Assistant faculty rank, ASM is seeking a conservator with, at a minimum, the experience and the skill set of someone referred to as an Associate Conservator within the field of conservation.
