Enjoy a bus tour to historic sites documenting the history and stories of the Tucson Chinese community. These sites are now animated with augmented reality taking you back in history. We will visit Alan’s Market and hear from descendent Patsy Lee, the New Empire Market, Lim You Market (now Screwbean Brewery, where we enjoy a beverage), and the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall plaza that overlooks a once active Chinese community destroyed by Urban Renewal. After the bus tour, during lunch at the Tucson Chinese Cultural Center, historian Howard Eng will present about Chinese markets and the tradition of Chinese chorizo in Tucson, and learn how Chinese language and arts are being sustained at the Center.

This program is a part of the twentieth anniversary celebrations of the Tucson Chinese Cultural Center. It highlights the work of TCCC in collaboration with the Arizona State Museum and the UA Center for Digital Humanities on the augmented reality project, "Discovering Community in the Borderlands" (DCB.ARIZONA.EDU).
