All Day, March 9 – 14, 2026

Cold winters, hot summers, and less than 13 inches of rainfall a year mean that not much more than Joshua Trees dot the stark landscape of the Mojave Desert. Despite its inhospitable appearance, people have lived and thrived here since the arrival of humans in the Americas and continue to do so. Join us on this evocative trip into the deep past and recent history of northwestern Arizona and southern Nevada. You'll get the full range of experiences, from archaeological sites to museums, from geological formations to the Las Vegas strip. Your tour leaders are ASM archaeologist Dr. James T. Watson and historian Dr. Michael M. Brescia.
