Exploring Walls: Creative Writing and Visual Literacy Activities

In spring, 2021, students at Pueblo High School and City High School in Tucson, Arizona wrote these poems at the end of a six-session workshop exploring walls and borders in association with the exhibit A History of Walls: The Borders We Build.

A traveling exhibit featured at ASM in 2020, A History of Walls: The Borders We Build, serves as the foundation and springboard for this exploration. These writing prompts and activities will help you explore ideas and information about border walls with your students.
